Wilburn C. Covin

Wilburn Covin was born on Monday, August 10, 1953 in Albany, Georgia, to the late Martha Covin Dukes. He was the eldest of five children. In addition to his mother, his daughter, Joanna Reeves, sister, Angela Jewles and brother, Leroy Dukes also preceded him in death.

He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Before he started experiencing health problems, he was an active member at his church, City of David Christian Center.

Wilburn was a man of many talents. He worked as a truck driver, drove dump trucks, laid asphalt, was a trained auto mechanic, owner of his own lawn service and home improvement company. In his earlier years, Wilburn loved riding motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family and showed love and adoration to them all, near and far. His grandchildren brightened up his day every time he spoke or saw them. Wilburn was never known to let grass grow under his feet. As long as he had a car, full tank of gas and a few dollars in his pocket he was on the move. He/You never knew where you would find him next.

Wilburn passed peacefully from this life the morning of November 9, 2023 after a gradual decline in health.

Wilburn is survived by his caring and loving wife, Rhonda Covin; children:  Wilburn (Evelyn) Reeves, Amaris (Kenneth) Reeves-Powell, Mathew (Amanda) Covin, Aaron Covin, Michelle Hunter, and Kizzie (Lewis) Osborne; brother: Charles Dukes and Gregory Dukes. Honorary daughter, Sheena (Amos) Johnson; stepchildren: Michael, Jermaine, Taylor, Ashley, Jaylen Turner.  Along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces,  nephews, other relatives and friends.
