Vanessa Matthews

Ms. Vanessa Faye Matthews, age 69, of Clarksville, TN entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at her residence.

Ms. Vanessa Johnson was born on January 7, 1956, to Abe B. Johnson and Edna Warfield. Upon the marriage of her mother, Edna Warfield, to Marshall Matthews, the entire family's last name was changed to Matthews.

She attended Cobb Elementary School, and Burt High School, and graduated from Clarksville High School. After graduation, she attended Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, to study nursing. She then continued her education at Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama, graduating with an Associate's degree in accounting and management.

She enjoyed spending time with her beloved dogs Jazz, Icie, and Zeus.

Vanessa was preceded in death by Abe B Johnson (father), Marshall Matthews (stepfather), and Edna Matthews (mother).

Vanessa leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Linda (Randy) Everett of High Point, NC; brother, Tracy (Jennifer) Matthews of Bettendorf, IA; nieces, Deidra Everett of High Point, NC, Deanna (Michael) Green of Greensboro, NC, and April Matthews of Chicago, IL; nephew, Marshall Matthews of Nashville, TN; great-nieces, Maddison Green and Naomi Matthews, and great-nephews, Michael Green III and Mitchell Green. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As Ms. Vanessa Matthews requested, there will be no memorial service.
