Sarah Ligon

Sarah Ann Ligon entered eternal rest on October 7, 2021. Visitation Thursday, October 14, 2021 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home. Homegoing Celebration 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. She was born on November 2, 1935 in Adams, TN, to Claude and Georgia Bell Chambers. She was a graduate of Bradford High School, Springfield, TN, Class of 1954. In June 5, 1954, she was united in marriage to the Rev. Thomas A. Ligon, Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev Thomas Ligon, Sr, granddaughter, Shirelle Ligon, parents, siblings, Walter Chambers, Claude Chambers, Rebecca Atkins, Dorothy Bowers, Mary Elizabeth Holman and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ligon.

She leaves to treasure loving memories, her children, Dudley (Delphia) Ligon, Vivian Ligon (Gary) Mosley, Claude Ligon, Rev. Thomas (Crystal) Ligon, Jr., Andy (Janice) Ligon, Jan Ligon (Bobby) Smallwood, Lonnie Ligon; 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; siblings, Frances Hubbard (Rev. James Hubbard), Bobby Chambers (Sandra), Josephine Bigbee, Ann Young; sisters in law, Shirlene Chambers, Rosie Ligon, Lucille Ligon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and her close friend Sis. Delinia Storr.
