Samuel Henry Mallory, Jr., began his earthly journey in Clarksville, Tennessee on Tuesday, January 26, 1943, son to Samuel Henry “Sam” Mallory, Sr., and Mae Frances Ogburn Mallory and raised by stepmother, Elena Hunter Mallory. His daughter, Veronica Mallory; sons: Vincent Mallory, Samuel Salom; mother, father, stepmother; brother, Ike Lee Mallory; maternal grandmother, Eunice Lisenby Ogburn and maternal grandfather, Wash Ogburn preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. George Williams at Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church.
Known to all as “Sammy”, he received his education in the Montgomery County School System and attended the Historic Burt High School. He left high school at the age of 18 and enlisted in the United States Army during the height of the Vietnam Conflict serving as the Unit Supply Sergeant. Throughout his service, he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon (2); National Defense Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal (2d OLC); Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Campaign Stars; Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/Palm; Overseas Service Bars (2) and Good Conduct Medal (6th AWD). On January 31, 1989, Sammy retired from the Army after 20 years of dedicated service to his country. After retirement, he enjoyed employment with State Industries as a welder and retired after 20 years.
On September 16, 1982, Sammy united in holy matrimony with Patricia Felder and they enjoyed 42 ½ years of wedded bliss.
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and friends. He was a sharp dresser, passionate about his luxury cars, enjoyed golfing, fishing and cooking. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.
On Friday, August 8, 2025, Samuel departed this life to be with the Lord.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his wife, Patricia Mallory; daughters: Jacqueline Bullock, GA, Sheila Robinson, KS, Jennifer Caudle, Clarksville, TN, Kathy Holmes, KS, Tiffany Atkins, AL, Pamela Mullins, Clarksville, TN, and Lisa Rogers, LA; sons: Darrell Mallory, Tyrone Ogburn, Samuel S. Mallory, all of Clarksville, TN, Barry Donkor, Harry Donkor and Samuel Petric, all of Germany; aunts: Eunice Lucille Ogburn Young, Clarksville, TN, Dorothy B. Ogburn Roberts, Indianapolis, IN and Ruby N. Ogburn Fletcher, Chicago, IL; a host of grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren; nieces, other relatives and friends.
