Otis James

Otis James born July 3, 1954 departed this life to be with the Lord, March 16, 2023. His son, Kevin Andrew James, daughter, Kara Aleece James and father, Kenwood Alan James preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his loving wife, Vivian Kay Mumpower James; daughter, Amanda Dawn Wright, both of Clarksville, TN; granddaughter, Daisy Fae Wright; grand kitty Libby “Go way Cat” mother, Mary Alice James, Abingdon, VA; sisters: Deatrice Lynn James, Abingdon, VA and Leslie Dianne Webb, Lexington, KY; favorite Super Bowl Competitor sister-in-law, Renia Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.

 He was a member of The Family Worship Center, Church of God in Clarksville. He honorably served his country as a soldier in the US Army for more than 20 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class/SFC and retiring. He enjoyed employment with The Trane Co, Jostens, Truck Driving and Sango Walmart #3495 in the maintenance department.

He loved spending time with his family and friends and taking spontaneous road trips with his daughter. He was an avid Raiders football fan, enjoyed eating spicy foods. He never met a stranger and had many adopted family members at Walmart (you know who you are). He was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Viewing Saturday, April 1, 2023 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at noon at Foston Funeral Home.
