Mitchell Ross Brewer

SFC (retired) Mitchell Ross Brewer was born on Friday, September 23, 1932 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the proud parents of Mitchell Glenn and Ora Lee Evans Brewer. His parents, brothers: Andrew, Henry, Oliver, Albert Brewer and sister, Bernice Brewer preceded him in death.

He received Christ at an early age and united in fellowship with Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the Male Chorus, singing his favorite song “The Time Is Now” before his health failed.

Affectionately known as “Dick” and “Killer”, he received his education in the Clarksville Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of the Historic Burt High School with the Class of 1953. Furthering his education, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served for 21 years before retiring. He enjoyed employment at New Era for 30 years. He also attended Austin Peay State University.

On Saturday, October 22, 1955, Mitchell united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Georgie Mae Greene and this union was truly blessed with a son and two daughters.

Mitchell was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching his favorite TV programs, sports teams, The Tennessee Titans, and Los Angeles Lakers, win or lose. He also enjoyed his soap operas, “The Young and the Restless”, and “The Bold and the Beautiful”. He loved being outdoors gardening and planting trees and flowers for his lovely wife, Georgie. He loved cooking, cleaning, sewing and DIY modifying and repairing things himself. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Monday, November 3, 2025, Mitchell departed this life to enter into his heavenly home with his family by his side.

Precious memories are left to share in our hearts and be cherished by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Georgie Greene-Brewer; daughters: Jacqueline (James) Brewer-Russell, Cassandra Brewer; son, Michael (Jocelyn) Brewer, Sr.; grandchildren: Mia Brewer, Michael Brewer, Jr., and Justin Kilgore; great-grandchildren: Cameron Langford, Karsyn Brewer; brothers: Frank (Melony) Brewer, Kenneth (Jacqueline) Brewer; sister, Juanita (Roy) Gold; brothers-in-law: Henry (Rosalynd) Greene and Jesse Greene and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
