Listen to Obituary

My Queen and our Beloved Mary L. “Dayday” Oldham Dennis was born in Springfield, Tennessee, on Thursday, June 20, 1968, the youngest of seven siblings. Her parents, Alice Oldham Dennis, John Watkins and brother, Leonard “BoBo” Dennis preceded her in death.

Mary, affectionately known as “Dayday” and “Robert’s Queen,” gave her life to Christ at Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member in service and Sunday School. She was a former member of the usher board, church choir and nurse's guild. Her favorite gospel song “Something About that Name” and favorite scripture “Proverbs 3:5-6”.

She received her education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and where she was a graduate of Northwest High School. She graduated from Bethel College earning a Bachelor’s  Degree. She enjoyed employment with Trane Company as a Quality Technician for the past 37 years.

On Sunday, March 27, 2011, Mary united in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Robert L. Campbell, Jr.

A devoted wife, mother, sister and friend, she was full of life and laughter. She loved the Lord, her family and church family and loved spoiling her grandbaby. Her favorite saying “I ain’t for no foolishness” and favorite R&B song “Last 2 Dollars”. She enjoyed working out, accomplished the Music City half marathon and shopping. She also enjoyed traveling, playing board games and working puzzles. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smile.

On Monday, January 5, 2026, Mary departed this life to be with the Lord.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her devoted husband of 15 years, Robert L. Campbell, Jr; daughter: La’Quisha (Troy) Morgan Clarksville, TN; bonus daughters; Crystal J.
