LaMarco Genise, daughter to Leonard C. Hite and Willie L. Waller Hite-Underwood, was born on October 29, 1956 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her father and brother, Leonard C. Hite, Jr., preceded her in death.
As a faithful servant of God, Genice started her faith walk at an early age. She was baptized at Woodlawn Elizabeth Baptist Church in Woodlawn, TN, under the leadership of Rev. C.R. Cheatham. Along her journey she fellowshipped with several churches in the community: New Galilean, Rev. James, Clarksville TN, as well as First Assembly of God Church, Clarksville, TN, Pastor Ramsey; where she engaged in and thoroughly enjoyed biblical studies.
She received her education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and she was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1976. Furthering her education, she attended Austin Peay State University, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She served over 30 years within the Headstart program and Community Action Agency serving as the Health Service Director. Her compassion was felt throughout the community. She was a member of AJAX Senior Center where she hand knitted and donated winter hats.
Her laugh lit up a room. Her sense of humor was enjoyed by young and old alike. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, spreading love and visiting the beach. You would see her sitting on her porch in peace, with kind, witty words waiting to part her lips. She was a beautiful, sweet spirit loved by many and will be missed by all.
