Kimberly Sanders

Kimberly Sanders was born on March 4, 1966, to the late Walter and Modiner Brown in Blytheville, Arkansas (Air Force Base). Kimberly graduated from Alton High School, Alton, IL class of 1985. Where she was on the track team, and flag team. She furthered her education attending Lewis and Clark Community College earning her Certified Nurses Assistant certificate. She then relocated to Blytheville, Arkansas where she attended Cotton Boll Tech School achieving her License Childcare Degree. She later moved to Clarksville, Tennessee where she established her own home daycare center, “Granny Kim’s” where she loved, taught, and nurtured several children for several years until her health began to fail. Kimberly is the proud mother of three: Kyra, Keyra and Kevin. She held a special place in her heart for each one of them. Kyra was her “China Doll” first born, who she would often say was her twin. Keyra “KeeKee” was her ride or die daughter, her mini-“Big Mama Drama”. And last, but not least Kevin “Baby Boy” was her heart of hearts, her only son, that she looked after and would be that mother hawk coming to his rescue. On March 31, 2000, she married the love of her life John Sanders, they celebrated 21 years of marriage this past March. Kimberly departed this life on July 29, 2021, with her husband, children, and grandchildren by her bedside. She was preceded in death by her father, brother-Kenneth Brown, grandparents: LQ and Florine Watley, James and Louise Carter, and aunt Debrah Harris. Kimberly leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, John, daughters: Kyra (Johnathan) Rounds of Bowling Green, KY, Keyra (Roman) Mctizic, son: Kevin (Valeria) Mctizic, Sr., both of Clarksville, TN; her true loves her 10 grandchildren: Kyraih, Krysten, Irving III, I’Miyah, Jarrel, Kamarlah, Kenyanna, Kelani, Khloe, Kevin Jr.;her mother, Modiner Brown of Alton, IL,her sisters: Karla (Calvin) Boyd, Katrina (Michael) Scott, of Alton, IL Kelly Brown, Springfield, IL, KaShauna (James) Whitehead of Alton, IL and Kristain (Ron) Duncan of Jacksonville, FL.; her uncle: Leroy Watley; aunts: Joan Carter, Lorine Conley, Priscilla Carter; special great uncle: Robert (Cynthia) Payne and great aunt: Lillian Brantley, a special nephew Kenneth Jones Jr., whom she called her son, 5 step children, 6 step grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Kimberly’s Celebration of Life Service will take place on Friday, August 6, 2021. Visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at Foston Funeral Home, 816 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN 37040
