Joe H. Moore began his earthly journey on Tuesday, December 29, 1925, son to Willie H. Moore and Blanche Louise Wilson Moore in Pembroke, Kentucky. His wife, Louise Moore; daughter, Marva Turner; two grandchildren: Elizabeth Johnson, Victor Turner; parents, brothers: Walter Moore, John Thomas and sister, Carrie Moore preceded him in death.
He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Chairman on the Deacon Board, treasurer, a proud member of the Men’s Choir and as janitor if the need arose. He believed in serving God not just in words, but through action, humility and commitment. The church meant so much to him, and serving was his joy.
Joe was educated in the Guthrie Public School System. He enjoyed being outside and worked as a farm hand for Ms. Susan at Mabry Farms until retiring at the tender age of 91.
In 1956, Joe united in holy matrimony with Louise Moore and this union was blessed with three children.
A loving, caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, he loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed going to eat at Golden Corral, drinking sweet tea, dancing, going fishing, playing checkers, telling stories, watching “Family Feud” and LA Lakers Basketball. All who knew and loved him will miss his presence and smiling face.
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, Joe’s earthly journey ended as he transitioned to be with the Lord.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his daughters: JoAnn Johnson and Bernice Moore, both of Clarksville, TN; 10 grandchildren: Leticia (Christopher) Edmonds, Porcha Johnson, Casandra (DeFontay) Hutchinson, Holland Tramill, Dimmis (Jason) Cummings, Chad Tramill, Sherrica (Rudy) Rugante, Timothy Turner;18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
