Jerry Skelton

Jerry Wayne was born on Wednesday, April 13, 1949, in Clarksville, Tennessee to Paul Charles Skelton and Azzie Mae Ervin Skelton and brother, Michael Skelton who precede him in death.

Jerry, who accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age, was a baptized member of St. John Baptist Church.

He received his education in the Montgomery County School System attending the Historic Burt High School where he ran track; played football and graduated with the Class of 1967. He enjoyed employment with the American Stuff Company as a Supervisor and did farm labor with the Lester Grove Farm.

On July 3, 2008, Jerry united in holy matrimony with Alfena Anthony and they enjoyed 17 years of marital bliss.

Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

On Monday, June 30, 2025, Jerry entered into eternal rest.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Alfena Anthony-Skelton; stepchildren: John Petersen, Jr., (Jennae),Asbert Gardner, Jr., Laritza Gardner-Hamby (Eric), and Askeia Gardner; mother-in-law, Ruth Anthony; 13 step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; sisters: M. Irene Gamble, Charletta Fentress, Cynthia (Morris) Moss, all of Clarksville, TN and Sharron (Geoffrey) Smith, McDonough, GA; brothers: Gary Ray Skelton, Killeen, TX and Norman (Florine) Roberts, Lyles, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
