James Lee, son to John Wesley Fletcher and Richie Lee Hutchens-Fletcher, began his earthly journey on Thursday, May 24, 1945, in Clarksville, Tennessee. His parents and two siblings: Edward Fletcher and Sandra Scott preceded him in death.
James accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Concord Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:31 and favorite song to sing “Shine On Me”.
Affectionately called “Jim” by family and friends, he attended public schools in Montgomery County. In the late 1980s, he left Clarksville and moved to Nashville, TN. While in Nashville, he worked at Elm Hill and later at Crestview Health and Rehab as a surgical technician. He attended several churches in the Nashville area before joining Mount Carmel, where he sang in the choir and was a deacon. When his health began to decline, he moved back to Clarksville. Realizing the importance of working for the Lord, he attended and later joined Evergreen Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and singing in the choir. All that knew Jim knew of his love of singing and doing whatever he could for the church.
On Saturday, July 26, 2025, Jim answered the Lord’s call to come home.
He leaves to carry out his love, legacy and memories to his three children: Margie Gold, Raquel (Britney) Fletcher and Ronnie (Teresa) Fletcher, all of Clarksville, TN; eight grandchildren: Jessica, DeMario, Jordan, Aaron, Rakyiah, Macai, TaRahni and Lakari; three great-grandchildren: Anthony, Charles and Aaleigh; sisters: Betty Allen, Eva Lisenby, both of Clarksville, TN and Armentris Davis, Smyrna, TN; devoted friend of over 40 years, Sam “S.T.” Lucas; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
