Age 41 of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Visitation Tuesday, May 7, 2019 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. with the family present 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Foston Memorial Chapel.     James was born March 5, 1978 to James Atkins and Rosa “Mattie” Dix Atkins in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. His son, Shakim Galbreath; sister, Sheena “Muppie” Richardson; grandparents: Rev. Fred Dix, James W. Atkins, Birdie B. Atkins and aunts: Nora Johnson and Sandra Guthrie precede him in death. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. Hebron Community Church. James received his formal education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, and he was a graduate of Clarksville High School. On March 4, 2014, James united in holy matrimony with Julie Bogle. Affectionately called “Freddie”, he had a big heart, was a caring and giving person who loved spending time with his family and friends, He enjoyed cars, shooting pool and playing video games. He had a special bond with “his baby – Tessa Baby” god-daughter, Ta’Mya Reese. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence. He leaves to cherish precious memories his devoted wife, Julie Bogle Atkins; daughter, Chedisha Griffin; son, Rashad Galbreath-Atkins, step-son, Alex Wilson; mother, Rosa “Mattie” Atkins and father, James Atkins; one grandchild; sister, Towanna Atkins; brother, Antonio “Tony” Atkins; grandmother, Rosa S. Dix; aunts: Debra Sherk, Myrle Burney and Janice (Greg) Wills; uncles: Rev. John (Connie) Dix, Sammy “BoBo” Dix, James (LaTasha) Atkins, Jr., and Rickey Dix;               god-daughter, Ta’Mya Reese and a host of other relatives and friends.
