Irolla Bell, the fifth of seven children of Elijah Mallory, Sr., and Mable Odham Mallory, began her earthly journey on Thursday, August 2, 1928 in Montgomery County, Tennessee. Her parents; sisters: Jessie Mae Manson, Margaret Smith; brothers: Rudolph “Virge” Mallory, Seymore Mallory, Homer Mallory and Elijah Mallory, Jr., preceded her in death.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Irolla received her formal education in the Montgomery County Public Schools. She enjoyed employment with the Montgomery County Head Start Program, where she was voted “Foster Grandmother of the Year” before retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Although she never married or bore any children, she had a special bond with her nieces and nephews. She loved to gather with family and was always the life of the party. During these times, she would often strike up a song with the family joining in as “backup singers.” She will truly bemissed by all who knew and loved her.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, Irolla’s earthly journey ended peacefully as she transitionedhome to be with the Lord.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her devoted nieces: Naomi Williams, Dr. JoAnn Burgess, Debbie Williams Lanier, and Doretha Manson Rhodes; goddaughter, Lorraine O’Reilly; her two special girls: Betty Miller and Tina Garrett, along with a host of relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
