Harold W. Jenkins

 

Harold Wesley began his earthly journey on Tuesday, September 26, 1943, son to Ralph Jenkins and Alberta Nolan Jenkins in Clarksville, Tennessee. His wife, Gloria Dean Cross Jenkins, parents, sister, Maggie Merriwether; brothers, Lonnie Bell Jenkins, Franklin Jenkins, Ernest Jenkins and Ronnie Jenkins, Arthur Jenkins and fur baby, Jackson preceded him in death.  

 

He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church.

 

Harold was educated in the Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of the Historic Burt High School with the Class of 1962. He enjoyed working with his hands and was employed as a painter for the Zinc Plant.

 

Affectionately call “Action” he loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, pool and hanging out at the Elks Lounge and American Legion. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

 

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Harold answered God’s beckoning call to cease from his earthly labors and entered into the Master’s Joy!

 

He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his daughters: Chiquita Martin, Bridgette Merriwether, Cynthia (Ron) Hawkins, Rita (William) Johnson, Anita (Antuan) Campbell and Kim Willis; sons: Norman (Patricia) Jenkins, Franklin (Nicole) Jenkins and Robert (Quita) Vance; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Martha Nicholson; special friend, Virginia Young; devoted companion, Lisa Haynes and a host of other relatives and friends.
