Gary T. Mosley

Gary Thomas, son to Eldridge Mosley, Jr., and Rosa Lee Roach Mosley, began his earthly journey on Friday, September 3, 1954 in Clarksville, Tennessee. His parents preceded him in death.

He professed a hope in Jesus Christ at a young age and joined First Baptist Church. Later, he united with Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church.

Gary received his formal education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and he was a graduate of Clarksville High School, Class of 1974. After graduation, he worked for the Clarksville Street Department and later enjoyed employment with Martinrea Fabco until failing health forced his retirement.

On November 30, 1985, Gary united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Vivian Ligon. This union was blessed with two daughters and 38 year of wedded bliss.

Gary loved spending time with his family and friends. Affectionately called “Po Chop”, he was well known for his cooking, especially his grilling and his BBQ hot sauce which he guarded the recipe with his life. He enjoyed watching football and just hanging out with friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Gary’s earthly journey ended peacefully as he answered God’s beckoning call to cease from his labors and entered into eternal rest.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished and shared by his devoted wife, Vivian Ligon Mosley; daughters: Jessica Mosley (Jason Teague) and Angela (Charles) Dunn, all of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Jordan Cross, Shaniya Mosley, Jeremiah Dunn and Serenity Maynor; brothers: James E. Mosley, Robert C. Mosley, Lavern R, Mosley, all of Clarksville, TN and Kent P. Mosley, Nashville, TN; sisters: Margie Halsey, Corine Mosley, Tekela Mosley and Carnita Brown, all of Clarksville, TN and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
