Fred Merriweather

Fred, son to Clarence Merriweather and Lucille Davis Merriweather, was born on Saturday, October 15, 1955, in Clarksville, Tennessee. His parents and three brothers: Barney Merriweather, Jimmy Merriweather and Charles Merriweather preceded him in death.

Fred received his education at the Tennessee School for the Deaf where he was an outstanding football player on both offensive and defensive team which contributed to winning their National Deaf Football Championship in 1973. Fred also played basketball and volleyball, ran track and loved watching sports on television. He was a 1974 graduate. He enjoyed employment with the Vulcan Corporation as an assembly line worker.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Fred departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his daughters: Thomasa Doughety, Nashville, TN, Molly Weidman, VA and Mandy Bower, Clarksville, TN; four grandchildren; sisters: Ruth Patterson and Charlene Merriweather; brothers: George Myles, Edward Merriweather and Joseph Merriweather, all of Clarksville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
