Eugene Ogburn

Eugene entered this life on a cold winter’s day, February 24, 1941, son to Jodie Ogburn and Cezar Mary Drake Ogburn in Adams, Tennessee. His wife, Linda Holmes Ogburn; parents, brothers: Herbert Lee Ogburn, Authur Ogburn, Willie Lee Ogburn, James Albert Ogburn, Robert Lawerence Ogburn, Sory Ogburn, Joseph Ogburn, WL Ogburn and sister, Roberta Ogburn Allen preceded him in death.

He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Mt. ZionMissionary Baptist Church in the Port Royal Community where he sang in the choir. His favorite scripture was Psalm 121.

Eugene was educated in the Montgomery County School System where he attended Pisgah School.He enjoyed employment with the Doehler Jarvis Company and retired after 31 years of dedicated service. Not wanting to be idol, he went to work with Fed-Ex for eight years.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. He spent the majority of his leisure timefishing, as that was his favorite activity. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, Eugene departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his daughter, Lindsay Rae’ (Sidney) Perry; sons: Antonio Eugene Ogburn, Victor Elam and Valance Elam, all of Toledo, OH; sisters: Lucille Darden,Springfield, TN, Ruth E. Fort, Josephine Ogburn Waller, both of Clarksville, TN; brothers: JL Ogburn, Charles (Linda) Ogburn, Harold (Jeannie) Ogburn, Raymond Ogburn, John Ogburn, Roy Dean Ogburn, Donald Ray (Ruby) Ogburn; 10 grandchildren: Kamie Tuggle, Cam’ron Goodwin, De’Varin Munn, Sidney Perry, Jr., Braylin Elam, Brook Elam, Brielle Elam, Victoria Elam, Veronica Elam, Kania Elam and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
