Ernest Catley

Ernest W. Catley was born September 22, 1937, in Hockley, TX to Vastean Catley and Louise Mae Taylor Catley. He passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022. Memorial Service 10: 00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  Ernie joined Saint John Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Trustee's Ministry. Ernie's career, in engineering, spanned over 35 years, for the same major airline in both the city of San Francisco, CA. and Indianapolis, IN, retiring in 1999. Ernie enjoyed real estate and retired from the field in 2015. He is preceded in death by his son Anthony O. Catley, parents and sisters, Lauren Dawson, Willie Mae Moultrie, and Margaret Moses.
Ernest leaves to treasure and hold in their hearts, his GOD-given, awesomely precious memories: his partner-in-Christ, devoted, and loving wife Barbara; his caring son Ronald G. (Juana) Catley, Soquel, CA, loyal son Walter A. Kirby of Clarksville, TN; affectionate daughter Bonnie D. (Jack) Mercer, Baltimore, MD: dear sister Della (Jesse) Franklin, Missouri City, TX; 'like a brother' cousin Ed Brock of El Cerrito, CA; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
