Listen to Obituary

Edward Jerome began his earthly journey on Sunday, November 25, 1962, son to Edward Charles Madison and Samella Barker Madison. His parents, grandmother, Beatrice L. Barker; great-great-grandmother, Annie Mae Anderson Barker; uncles: Anderson Barker and Thomas Barker; aunts: Annie B. Moss and Geneva Wheeler preceded him in death.

He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Boiling Springs Missionary Baptist Church. His favorite scripture was Psalm 23. His favorite gospel songs were “Precious Lord,” “Amazing Grace,” “Take Me to the King” and “Soon and Very Soon.”

Edward was educated in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Northwest High School, Class of 1980. After high school, Edward served in the United States Army.

He loved spending time with his family and friends. “ED. Mr. Basketball” as he was affectionately called by people in the neighborhood, loved playing basketball from a young age and you could always find him at the center playing. He loved to research and learn about the legacy and history of the Madison family. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Edward departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his devoted sister, Pamela Yvonne Madison, Clarksville, TN; nephew, Rayshawn Madison; niece, Rayshanda Madison; aunt, Deloise Williams; great-aunt, Maybell Barker and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
