Darlean was born Sunday, October 31, 1971, the daughter of Newt Lee Garrett, Jr., and Katie Lee Miller Garrett.

She professed a hope in Jesus Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church.

Darlean received her formal education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System where she attended and was a graduate of Northeast High School, Class of 1990. She enjoyed employment at O’Charley’s Restaurant for 25 years and was the best server hands down.

On Saturday, August 8, 2015, Darlean united in holy matrimony with Miguel Diaz.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and whatever she was to you. She loved spending time with her grandbaby, Aria. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made the best caramel cake around. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smile.

Darlean went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katie Lee Miller Garrett; grandparents: Newton and Drucilla C. Garrett and Ray and Imogene Miller; aunt: Lucille Wilcox.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, her husband, Miguel Diaz; sons: Arick Garrett and Arion Garrett; grandchild, Aria Garrett; father, Newt Lee Garrett, Jr.; sister, Debra Garrett; niece, Javonia A. McNeill; nephew, Lavon T. Garrett; great-niece, Zavonni Garrett, all of Clarksville, TN; aunts: Elenora Mallory, Willie Mae (Rev. Ray) Miller and Marilyn A. Wentz; uncles: Howard (Patricia) Garrett, Jimmy (Ruby) Garrett, Albert (Rubye) Garrett and Edward (Tina) Garrett and a host of other relatives and friends.
