Clifton Luke

Clifton began his earthly journey on Wednesday, December 3, 1952, son to Fitz Herbert Luke and Gladys Clark Luke. His parents preceded him in death.

He earned his PhD in Anthropology at Columbia University and served in the US Army.

Clifton was intelligent, charismatic, outspoken and could carry a conversation with anyone. He loved people, and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience, and had a personality that was bigger than life. His presence will be deeply missed but his voice, his stories, and personality will remain with us. Rest well Clifton your work here is finished. We will carry your love, your lessons and legacy forward.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Clifton departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his sons: Austin Mason, James Luke, both of Clarksville, TN and Richard Brown, Philadelphia, PA; daughter, Janelle Alexis; grandchildren, Leilani Mason, Justin Mason, Jayden Luke, Zemah J. Luke, Kadence Luke, Aniah Alexis, Jared Lissade, Mekhi Brown and Machi Like; sister, Margaret Luke; brothers: Dennis Luke, Robin Luke and John Luke, all of New York, NY, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
