Clayton D. "Noonie" Burney

age 73 of Clarksville passed away Monday, May 29, 2017. Visitation Sunday, June 4, 2017 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with the family present 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Masonic rites 6:00 p.m. Funeral service 12:00 noon Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Foston Memorial Gardens. He was born August 29, 1943 in Clarksville to Kelley G. Burney and Martha " Ham" Chilton Burney. He was a 1961 graduate of Historic Burt High School. He was a member of St. John where he served on the Trustee Board, Usher Board, sung in the Male Chorus, Willing Workers choir and provided transportation for the seniors. He is preceded in death by his father, siblings, Sadie and George Burney. He leaves to cherish his memories devoted wife, Peggy Burney; daughter, Tanya Burney; mother, Martha "Ham" Chilton Burney; brother, Emmett Burney all of Clarksville, TN; sister, Annie (George) Clark, Houston, TX and a host of family and friends.
