Chester Patterson

Chester Dean Patterson’s earthly journey began on Friday, March 22, 1957, in Port Royal (Adams), Tennessee, the son of the late Alexander Patterson, Sr., and Lula Mae Smith Patterson. Also preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Day Patterson and brother, Jeff Patterson. On Monday, April 8, 2024, Chester’s  journey ended peacefully as he entered into the Master’s joy.

Chester received his education in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1975. He enjoyed employment with State Industries/A.O. Smith as a Finish Tank Line Tester and after many years of dedicated service retired in 2019.

Chester was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He was a hard working man who loved his family and friends and “Hanging out with his boys” in the yard. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and cornhole. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiling face.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished and shared by his two daughters: Tiauna R (Marcus) Dixon and Tangee J. (Dwayne) Williams, all of Clarksville, TN; sons: Justin D. (Katesha) Patterson, Sr., Clarksville, TN, Terrence D. Gunn and Sharodney Gunn, both of Springfield, TN; seven grandchildren: Justin Patterson, Jr., King Marcus Dixon, Montey Gunn, Chance Gunn, Serenity Ladd, Naya Williams and Emiyah Cobb; sister, Pearlie Mae Braswell; brothers: Alexander (Mary) Patterson, Sr., Terry Patterson, Wilber E. Patterson, Leon (Sonja) Patterson, Lawerance Patterson, David Patterson, all of Clarksville, TN and Danny (JoAnn) Patterson. Guthrie, KY; mother of his children, Donna Lyle; longtime companion, Glenda Freeman and a host of other relatives and friends.
