Charles, son to Michael Freeman and Earline Freeman, began his earthly journey on Friday, November 27, 1955 in LaGrange, Georgia. His parents and a brother, Melvin David Freeman preceded him in death.

He was educated in the Atlanta Public School System and was a graduate of Turner High School.

On December 22, 1980, Charles united in holy matrimony with Drucilla Seaborn and this union was blessed with three children.

We celebrate the life of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, strength and warm smile touched everyone who knew him. He lived a life marked by resilience, love, and dedication to his family. He always found joy in spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren, sharing laughter, offering wisdom, and creating lasting memories. His family was his greatest pride and joy. His spirit and caring heart will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Charles departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves precious memories to be cherished with his beloved wife of 46 years, Drucilla Freeman; loving daughters: Marshalena (Calvin) Wheat, Melissa (Eric) Orr, all of Clarksville, TN; devoted son, Charles (Tina) Freeman, Jr., Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren: Calvin Wheat, Jr., Ta’Bious Wheat, Ja’Quarious “J.J.” Wheat, Charles D. Freeman, Jr., Jakhari Freeman, Chase Freeman, London Freeman, Hayvin Wheat, Summer Freeman, Lola Orr, Syah V. Wheat; one great-grandchild; sister, Brenda Rasheedah Clark; brothers: Vinson Freeman, Tyrone Freeman, Ricky Freeman, all of Atlanta, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
