Charlene entered this life on Tuesday, May 24, 1960, to the delight of her parents, Clarence Merriweather, and Lucille Davis Merriweather, in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her parents, grandparents, and four brothers: Charles Merriweather, Jimmy Merriweather, Barney Merriweather, and Fred Merriweather preceded her in death.

Charlene was a devoted member of the Baptist faith.

Charlene attended schools in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System and graduated from Clarksville High School, Class of 1978. She later joined the custodial staff at Austin Peay State University, where she served with dedication for many years before retiring.

Charlene treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished the time they spent together. She delighted in cooking delicious meals and baking decadent desserts for others to enjoy. She also enjoyed playing games on her phone and watching her favorite television shows. All who knew and loved Charlene will deeply miss her presence and beautiful smile.

On Sunday, September 6, 2026 Charlene departed this life to be with the Lord.

She leaves to cherish loving memories to her sons: Antonio (Shontoria) Merriweather, Clarksville, TN, and Dontavious “Shaun” (Alexis) Merriweather, Columbia, SC; five grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann Patterson; brothers: George Thomas Myles, Edward L. Merriweather, and Joseph A. Merriweather, all of Clarksville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
