Bruetta Elizabeth, daughter to James Edwazrd Williams, Sr., and Orleya Ann Moody Williams, was born Thursday, March 22, 1945 in Clarksville, Tennessee and was the second of ten children. Her parents, brother, Clifford Williams; sister, Eunice Williams Ellis; grandparents: Elizabeth Ann Moody, Pomp Moody, Mary Williams, and Tom Williams preceded her in death.
She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age and united with Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church, faithfully serving as a member of the Senior Choir and secretary of Young at Heart Ministry.
Bruetta was educated in the Montgomery County School System and was a graduate of Historic Burt High School, Class of 1964. She enjoyed employment with Emerson Electric as a member of the assembly department, before retiring after 35 years of dedicated service to the company. She also worked for the Leaf-Chronicle Newspaper providing them with “Guthrie News” to print, before retiring again.
Bruetta loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, planting flowers, listening to music, having conversations with members on the phone and dressing stylishly. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence and beautiful smiling face.
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Bruetta answered God’s beckoning call to cease from her earthly labors and enter the Master’s joy.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her beloved sisters: Shirley (Jesse) McCoy, Kokomo, IN, Diane Williams, Guthrie, KY; brothers: James (Elise) Williams, Clarksville, TN, Henry D. (Judy) Williams, Kokomo, IN, Raymond L. (Deborah) Williams, Elkton, KY, Clyde E. (Rethell) Williams, Clarksville, TN, Wayne L. (Sammie) Williams, Guthrie, KY and Phillip O.
