Birdie Mae Miller

Listen to Obituary

Birdie Mae entered this life to the delight of her parents, Charles Henry Osborne and Maria A. Bell Osborne, on April 20, 1942 in Clarksville, Tennessee. Her husband, Robert Miller; son, Rickey R. Miller; grandchildren, Ikeesha and Marie Miller; parents, siblings: Barbara Washington, Annie Pearl Osborne Kelly, Fred Osborne, Edward Osborne and Charles Tony Osborne preceded her in death.

She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and was a faithful member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church until failing health prevented her attendance. Her favorite gospel song was “Cooling Water.”

A native Clarksvillian, she received her formal education through the Montgomery County Schools where she attended and graduated from the Historic Burt High School with the Class of 1960. While a student there she ran track with teammate, Wilma Rudolph. After high school, she earned certification as a dental assistant. She enjoyed employment with Park DuValle Neighborhood Health Center as a dental assistant/office manager. After many years of dedicated service, she retired on April 25, 2008. She was a member of “Tender Loving Care” (TLC).

Birdie Mae was known for her warm smile and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cherishing every moment and creating lasting memories through her kindness and unwavering love. She enjoyed decorating, planting a garden, taking care of her house plants and listening to music and dancing. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her presence.

On Friday, January 2, 2026, Birdie Mae answered God’s beckoning call to cease from her earthly labors and enter into the Master’s JOY.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her children: Sonja Miller, Louisville, KY and Apryle Miller, Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Doris (Vivan) Fairrow, Bessie (Edward) Trice and Helen Andrews; brothers: James Robert Osborne, Rev. Michael (Cassandra) Osborne, Joe Osborne, Rev. Jesse (Sheila) Osborne, William Osborne and John Osborne, all of Clarksville, TN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
