Arthur "Sam" Bagwell

Arthur Thomas, son to Milton Bagwell, Jr., and Roberta Majors Franklin entered this life on January 3, 1949 in Ashland City, Tennessee. His son, Carlos Bagwell, Sr., parents, maternal grandparents: Ross and Elizabeth Majors and paternal grandparents: Milton Bagwell, Sr., and Maggie Bagwell preceded him in death. Viewing Monday, October 26, ,2020 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Foston Funeral Home.

Arthur received his formal education in the Montgomery County School System, where he attended the Historic Burt High School. He spent the majority of his adult life living in Detroit, MI. He enjoyed employment with the Chrysler Automotive Corporation, retiring after many years of dedicated service. After relocating back to Tennessee, he worked 10 faithful years as a custodian at Ramada Limited, owned by the Raman family, who were dear friends to him.

Affectionately known as “Sam” to family and friends, he loved his family and the big gatherings that were held, making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. He loved listening to Motown oldies music with his headphones on. His all-time favorite song was “My Girl” by the Temptations. He loved the Tennessee Titans and loved attending the Annual “Ole School Reunions and representing them by wearing his reunion shirts. He enjoyed playing Bingo with his friends at Ahava Healthcare. All who knew and loved him will sorely miss his presence and smiles.

On Monday, October 19, 2020, Arthur departed this life to be with the Lord.

He leaves to cherish precious memories to his daughter, Tracey Bagwell, Spring Lake, NC; son, Andre Bagwell, Detroit, MI;  nine  grandchildren: India, Carlos, Jr., Anthony, Yvonne, Tavon, Kiarra, Andre, Jr., Andrea and Shardae; one great-grandchild, Carlos Bagwell, III;  sisters: Carolyn Crockett, Janice Richard, Melissa Harrell, all of Clarksville, TN and Linda Terry, Indianapolis, IN; brother, James Majors, Clarksville, TN; devoted niece, April Crockett, Clarksville, TN  and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
