Remembering Arthur James Pickett, Jr., better known as “Turo” to family and friends. He passed away in South Ogden, Utah on 7 April 2026. Arthur was born in Ancon, Panama (formerly Canal Zone) to the late Arthur James Pickett and Daisy Prescott Pickett, the first of two children.
Growing up a military child, he grew up all over the world…Cocoli, Panama, Ft. Benning, GA, Karlsruhe, Germany and Ft. Campbell, KY. After his dad’s retirement, he settled in Clarksville, TN.He attended Ringgold Elementary, New Providence Middle School and graduated from Northwest High School. During those formative years, he was active in the Youth Group at Soldiers Chapel, and he was also a Cub Scout. He played football at Northwest and Summer League Baseball at Stokes Field. Arthur enlisted in the Air Force after graduating high school and settled in Chandler, AZ where he married and raised his kids. He graduated from Respiratory Therapy School and later went to work as a Warehouse manager. This job would lead him to South Ogden, UT, where he was residing at the time of his death.
Arthur leaves us not in mourning, but in gratitude for the joy of having had him as a shining light in our lives. He loved life. He was kind and his life touched many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. We reflect on and celebrate one who will forever remain in our hearts.
He leaves behind a loving family…his mother, Daisy Prescott Pickett, his sister, Tanya Pickett, daughter, Kierra Pickett, son, Isaac (Alexa) Pickett, grandchildren, Giovonni A. Pickett and Elora S. Pickett, and a host of family and friends.
