Adrean LaSha Burks was born on Friday, June 30, 1989, in Madisonville, Kentucky to Juanita Louise Cross and Duncan Eric Burks. Her eldest sister, Victoria Dowlen; grandfather, Paul Cross, Sr., and great-aunt, Bessie Carpenter preceded her in death.
She gave her life to Christ at the early age of 10 and was a faithful member of Queen Anne Baptist Church in Trenton, Kentucky where she served on the usher board, sang in the choir, as a member of the cemetery committee and the Section 4 Youth. After relocating to Clarksville, Tennessee, Adrean joined Mr. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Dorance Powell. She served in many capacities while attending, her favorite was singing in the choir.
Adrean graduated from Kenwood High School in Clarksville, Tennessee, Class of 2008 and TRC Technical College in Smyrna, Tennessee where she earned an associate’s degree in special education.
Adrean loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed singing, dancing, family time and going to amusement parks. She will be remembered for her cheerfulness, big smile, hugs and having a huge heart. The love she had for all and her “tell it like it is” nature made her one of a kind in spite of multiple health issues. She did not let these issues stop her from enjoying the life the Lord gave her. Adrean loved her church family, immediate family, friends, nieces and nephews. More importantly, she loved the Lord.
On Sunday, November 9, 2025, Adrean was called home to be with the Lord.
She leaves precious memories to be cherished by her parents: Juanita L (John) Cross and Duncan (Cynthia) Burks, all of Clarksville, TN; sisters: Audrea (Kenneth) Burks, Hopkinsville, KY, Tabitha (Michael) Bush, Springfield, TN and Donyatta Dowlen, Clarksville, TN; brothers: Eric (Chelsie) Burks, Springfield, TN, De’Ajion Mosby and Anthony Hicks, both of Clarksville, TN; grandparents, Bessie Cross and Barbara Brogden; favorite aunt, Tanya Burks; favorite uncle, Paul Cross, Jr.; favorite cousin, Cyerra Fort; devoted friend, Katie Guy; devoted Mister, John Cannon; devoted caregivers, doctors and friends and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
